Our community is why we are here, and who we work for.
Selfawear started as a message on a tee about being kinder to yourself. Seven years on, the people wearing it have paid for koala habitat, mental health programs, a women's shelter, and warm clothes handed out on the street at night. Every number on this page came out of somebody’s order.

These are our current partnerships. Buy one of these and a fixed amount goes straight back to the organisation it was made with. You do not have to do anything extra, and nothing gets rounded up at the checkout.

Awake Academy
$5 from every garment goes back to Awake Academy, and $5 more goes to the charity they choose.
Awake Academy is a mental wellness education company founded by Tess Brouwer, with seven-time world surfing champion Layne Beachley on the team. Their work is about resilience, self-awareness and showing up for yourself. Ours is about wearing that out loud.
Two launches in, the collection has grown past fifty pieces carrying messages like Hi Five If You're Healing, Be Where Your Feet Are and You've Got This. Awake Academy chose Black Dog Institute and Northern Beaches Women's Shelter as the causes it supports.
2,384 garments sold so far. That is $11,920 committed to Awake Academy and $11,920 committed to Black Dog Institute and Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter.

Currumbin Wildlife Conservation
$1 from every tee is donated to Currumbin Wildlife Conservation.
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary puts one hundred percent of its visitor entry profits back into conservation, running rescue, research and breeding programs for Australian species most people never hear about.
Our Conservation Collection was drawn from those species. The koala everybody knows, and the Kroombit Tinker Frog, the Eastern Bristlebird and the Australian bats most people do not. We filmed the whole collection on site with the CWC team.
450 tees sold so far, which is $450 committed to Currumbin Wildlife Conservation.

Some of it was a collection. Some of it was a pallet of tees sent to a charity that needed them, or forty minutes on a beach with rubbish bags. None of it was marketing.
Everything below has already happened. The two collections above are the ones you can still shop.
2022
Volunteering Gold Coast
We made the Do Good, Feel Good tee and gave away every cent of profit. It paid for accessible beaches, transport for people over 65, and a weekly visitor for isolated aged care residents.

Mindfulness and Beach Cleanup Day
We put the call out and people came. More than 2,760 items catalogued, including close to a thousand cigarette butts.

Hero 50 Triathlon
Shaun Brown swam, rode and ran a sprint triathlon every day for fifty consecutive days to raise awareness of mental health. We backed him for all fifty.
2025
Rosies, Friends on the Street
Street outreach across Queensland, sitting with people who are homeless or isolated and offering a hot drink and company.

Mudgeeraba Lions Club
The local Lions Club, who put our tees straight into their own community work.

Serving Our People
Started in the pandemic to deliver whatever is needed to whoever needs it. Free supermarkets, not for profit cafes, and 55,000 people supported.

Friends With Dignity
They restore the homes and the lives of families leaving domestic violence.

A school in Cambodia, an Air Force base in the Territory, three health centres on the south coast, and six more. Smaller donations that add up.

Set Free Care
Our biggest ongoing donation, across six deliveries. They gave our tees their own corner of the op shop floor and called it the Selfawear Second Chance Rack.

Motherhood Village
Perinatal and early parenting mental health on the Gold Coast. We donated tees, then brought a stall to their Family Fun Day.

Australian Conservation Foundation, Bayside
A volunteer needed Respect The Locals koala tees in time for a protest at Parliament House against clearing 652 koala habitat trees. We got them there.

Two community days we turned up to in person. A dog day out, and the Gold Coast garden and sustainability festival.

A co-branded Positive Sidelines supporter tee for the 2027 season, worn across every club in the association.
