We're a small indie brand on the Gold Coast. We don't have a sustainability department or a 40-page impact report. What we do have is a warehouse full of people who care — about the clothes we make, the way we make them, and what happens after they leave our hands. We're doing our best, and we'll keep getting better.
How We Source
Our blanks aren't off the shelf. We work with manufacturers who meet our ethical sourcing standards — fair wages, safe conditions, transparent supply chains. It costs more. We don't care. That's the cost of doing it right.
Every garment is custom private label — made to our specifications, not pulled from a catalogue. We chose 180 GSM combed cotton because it's the sweet spot: thick enough to feel premium and hold its shape, soft enough that you'll reach for it every morning.
We know exactly where our blanks come from, how they're made, and who makes them. That traceability isn't a marketing bullet point — it's a baseline.
How We Print
Every single tee is printed in-house at our Burleigh Heads warehouse using DTF — Direct-to-Film. We chose this method because it produces sharper detail, more vibrant colours, and a finish that becomes part of the fabric rather than sitting on top of it.
Because we print everything ourselves, we control the entire process. Every tee is quality checked by hand before it gets packed. If something isn't right — the placement, the colour, the finish — it doesn't ship. That's how we've managed zero print complaints across 250,000+ orders.
Printing in-house also means less waste. We print on demand where possible, and our process minimises material waste at every step. No overruns sitting in a warehouse. No defective stock getting dumped.
How We Pack
Every order leaves our warehouse in 100% biodegradable packaging. That means the mailer, the tissue, everything — it all breaks down completely. No single-use plastic. No poly bags. No unnecessary filler.
Every single order is packed by hand at our Burleigh Heads warehouse. It's not automated. It's not outsourced. Our team folds it, wraps it, seals it, and sends it. That personal touch is slower than a machine — but it means someone actually cares about how your order arrives.
We believe the stuff you throw away matters just as much as the stuff you keep. If your mailer is going in the bin, it should disappear — not sit in a landfill for 500 years.
How We Give Back

Selfawear was built by its community. Our customers don't just buy clothes — they start conversations, they share stories, they connect with strangers in coffee lines and school pickups. That's the whole point. We exist to make clothing that actually says something.
